As of 2013, 5,500 people in Brazil are known to be living on the streets, and this doesn't even include the people who live in shelters or favelas.

When did this happen?

The homeless population of Brazil was very high from the year 2011, however, many people in Brazil have "escaped" poverty in the last decade.

Where and Why does this happen? |
Some causes for poverty are: foreign debt, globalization, lack of economic
freedom, lack of economic
growth, education, overpopulation, family structure, slavery, and overpopulation.
